From firm to soft...

Sealy Optimum Destinyis the starter of the lineup... It is the firmest of the all and to be honest, only having one inch of cool gel, it's only use was to be a good starting price Optimum for retailers. Serta and Simmons have their own models for the same reason. If you're looking for comfort, you're looking for a pressure relieving mattress that will help to keep you cool at night. Not a rock-hard marshmallow.

Sealy Optimum Elite Truth/Radiance is the mattress I suggest if you want a firm feel but still want the benefits of an Optimum mattress. This particular has two different  names because retailers don't want you to be able to price shop other stores for the same mattress. Instead of simply being competitive, they'd rather just confuse you.

Sealy Optimum Elite Courage/Inspiration are the plush models. These are the ones that have a more luxurious feel and still give you 110% of the support you need. Because they conform to you, it really doesn't matter how soft the mattress is because part of you melts into the mattress and part of the mattress conforms into the places your body needs support! This is the part where you need to try these out and spend a few minutes on them. They are made to reduce movement while you sleep, but depending on your body's shape, some people sink in more than others which could possibly cause you to sink in too much to where you have trouble moving around. The plush is still an "in the middle" firmness and I haven't had a single person complain, but if they question which to get, i've pointed more people towards the Radiance/Truth in the first place.

Sealy Optimum Elation/Elation Gold... This is the BEAST... We have a hard time getting these in because Tempurpedic discontiinued the set (Tempurpedic now owns Sealy/Stearns & Foster) and took them off the shelves. They did this because the mattress was pretty much identical to their own $5000 mattress and they were losing money selling this one for $3500... PFFF! These are considered ultra plush.. Initially, they don't feel much softer than the Inspiration/Courage, but you sink in a little more over time laying on them.

Additional Note:

If you're sleeping on a traditional innerspring and want to give the solid memory foam mattresses a shot, I've had many many customers complain about the first few nights of sleep on their new foam mattresses. They take about a week for your body to adjust to these sets and before I could arrange to swap them out for something different, they let me know that they couldn't be happier with their purchase! It's happened enough now that I warn people beforehand. That is the only "problem" i've had with these mattresses. EVER!

Sealy Optimum

     Cool Gel Memory Foam

When the COOL GEL craze first began, I was a bit skeptical. I felt that it was just a knock-off of latex and wouldn't hold up. To my surprise, it has been by far my most popular lineup of all and over the past 3 years, hundreds of these have been sold by myself and about 6 other stores I keep in contact with, only to find NONE of us have ever had a dipping issue with ANY of them! That says a lot to me and I know place my foot firmly in my mouth about my original opinion of the new Sealy Optimum Cool gel sets!

Models vs. firmness levels

in my opinion...
